Mentions work a bit differently across all the channels. To learn more about these differences, click on a specific channel name above or scroll below.

Adding a mention/tag to social posts

Step 1. Visit your social posts page and create a new social post by clicking New social post, or open an existing social post via the Edit link.

Step 2. Enable the channels you wish to publish to and create the master message by adding a caption and/or media.

Step 3. Scroll down to find the Tailor by channel section, where you are able to mention other accounts.

LinkedIn Company Pages and LinkedIn Profiles

Type @ followed by the slug of the page. Matches for your text will be displayed in a dropdown below and you will need to click on an item inside the dropdown to confirm the mention. Once clicked, the text will transform into a mention (eg. @story-chief will be changed to StoryChief).

πŸ”” Note: Due to API restrictions, it is not possible to tag or mention personal profiles on LinkedIn. This is a restriction from LinkedIn and therefore it's out of our control.

πŸ”” Note: Due to API limitations the mention can only be triggered when exactly inputting the URL slug.

Example: To mention the Coca-Cola Company page, you need to type the stripes too @the-coca-cola-company as shown below:

Twitter

Start with @ and type the username, or search using actual name or topic. For example, if you begin with @football, you will receive a list of football teams.

πŸ”” You can only tag Twitter accounts that have previously mentioned you. You can only tag a single account per tweet. This is a limitation enforced by twitter to prevent spammy and unsolicit mentions.

Facebook Pages

Type @ followed by the name of the page. Matches for your text will be displayed in a dropdown below and you will need to click on an item inside the dropdown to confirm the mention.

πŸ”” Note: Due to API restrictions, it is not possible to tag or mention personal profiles and groups on Facebook. This is a restriction from Facebook and therefore it's out of our control.

Instagram

Type @ followed by the name of the page. In this case and as opposed to the other platforms, due to API restrictions, you won't find a dropdown with the closest matches so it's important that you type the exact handle you want to mention.

Once you publish the social post through StoryChief, the account you mentioned will become hyperlinked. There is a limit of 5 different accounts that you can mention within a social post.
