Connect your Zoom account to StoryChief to let the AI assistant access your meeting data, recordings, and chat messages. This integration uses Zoom's official MCP (Model Context Protocol) server and connects securely via OAuth.
What can you do with the Zoom integration?
Once connected, you can ask the AI assistant to:
Summarize recent meetings and recordings
Find specific conversations or chat messages
Draft follow-up content based on meeting notes
Turn meeting insights into blog posts, social updates, or campaigns
How to install the Zoom integration
Step 1. Log in to your StoryChief account and open the AI Assistant.
Step 2. Navigate to the Plugins page from the assistant menu.
Step 3. Find Zoom in the plugin catalog and click Install.
Step 4. Click Connect to start the OAuth authorization. A popup will open redirecting you to Zoom.
Step 5. Sign in to your Zoom account (if not already signed in) and authorize StoryChief to access your Zoom data.
Step 6. Once authorized, the popup will close and the Zoom connection will show as Connected in StoryChief.
That's it! You can now use the AI assistant to work with your Zoom data.
How to use the Zoom integration
Open the AI assistant and ask a question that involves your Zoom data. For example:
"Summarize my last Zoom meeting"
"What was discussed in yesterday's team call?"
"Find the recording from our marketing sync last week"
"Draft a follow-up email based on my last client call"
The assistant will use the Zoom tools to fetch the relevant data and help you with your request. Some actions may require your approval before executing β you'll see an approval prompt in the assistant when this happens.
How to disconnect Zoom
Step 1. Open the AI Assistant and navigate to the Plugins page.
Step 2. Find the Zoom plugin and click on it to open the settings.
Step 3. Click Disconnect to revoke the connection.
This removes the OAuth tokens from StoryChief. To also revoke access from the Zoom side, go to the Zoom App Marketplace β Manage β Installed Apps and remove StoryChief.
Privacy and security
StoryChief connects to Zoom through Zoom's official MCP server (
mcp.zoom.us) β we do not access the Zoom API directly.Authentication uses OAuth 2.0 with PKCE for secure authorization.
Your Zoom access tokens are encrypted at rest and only decrypted in memory when the assistant makes a request.
No Zoom data is permanently stored in StoryChief beyond the encrypted connection tokens.
You can disconnect at any time and all tokens are immediately deleted.
Troubleshooting
The OAuth popup shows an error Make sure you are signed in to a Zoom account that has permission to authorize third-party apps. If your Zoom workspace has admin restrictions on app installations, contact your Zoom admin.
The assistant says the connection is expired Your Zoom tokens may have expired. Go to the Plugins page and click Reconnect on the Zoom plugin to re-authorize.
I don't see Zoom in the plugin catalog The Zoom integration requires an active StoryChief plan with AI assistant access. Contact support if you believe you should have access.
