Introduction to the article on what it does, a short outline of which topics are being covered. Also, the perfect place to add "alternative writing" of a question. Turning "creating a social post" into "make a post for your social media" helps more people to find our articles.

Start gaining more Insight into your social media data

1. Accessing the Insights

Step 1. Click on the Insights page from your dashboard to get started πŸ‘‰ Quick link.

Step 2. The Insights page is split into multiple sections. For this article, choose 'Social Media Insights'.

  • Content Audit

  • SEO Insights

    • Page & Keyword reports to provide actionable insights

  • Social Media Insights

    • Reports that give an overview of your social media presence and a deep dive into the data

Step 3. On every insights page, it's possible to choose a custom timeframe.

Click on the dates at the top right to adapt your overview and channel tabs to a different period. Click on 'Apply' once ready.

2. Performance Overview

Inside the overview section, you can find overall stats about all of your channels combined:

View how your total audience, engagements, and impressions have evolved:

Keep scrolling down to see changes to audience, engagements, and impressions per channel type. Click on the dropdown to change:

Step 3. Recent Social Posts:

Your most recent social posts and their individual stats can be seen here. Click on each individual social post report to find a detailed view per post:

3. Instagram

a. Profile:

The main profile metrics (followers, profile views, reach, impressions & website clicks) are displayed in cards with the current value and the difference from the previous period. It also has the following options in the header:

  1. Swap connected accounts

  2. Set an aggregation period (Daily, Weekly, Monthly)

  3. Choose your timeframe

  4. Print the report

Below is the 'Follower growth' displayed, with a 'Net followers' label to quickly see how many followers were gained/lost.

Further down, the 'Followers demographics' provides a breakdown of the age and gender of the profile visitors.

Next is the 'Followers locations' graph, which shows in which country and city your followers are located.

A very useful report is the 'Followers online activity' which shows when your followers are most active. This might influence the time you schedule new social posts, to optimize the reach.

At the bottom of this page, the 'Average reach & engagement by type' gives a breakdown of the average reach and interactions per post type.

b. Posts:

For Posts, the main metrics are also shown prominently to give an idea of how the posts during this timeframe are doing. The deltas below show the difference between the previous period.

The graph below displays the Reach over time and shows when there were peaks or lows.

Next, a graph with all the engagement types (Likes, Comments, Saves, Shares) is shown, with the possibility to hide certain metrics to focus on the chosen set.

The 'Posts individual performance' shows all posts published during the timeframe, including those not published through StoryChief. So it shows a full overview!

The table can be sorted to show the posts with the highest or lowest of a certain metric.

πŸ’‘ Tip: Also very useful, it's possible to click on the image to be redirected to the Instagram post.

At the bottom, an overview of the 'Hashtag performance' is displayed to show the hashtags used on your Posts. This table can also be sorted to see the most/least used hashtags, reach, total interactions. The sidebar gives a quick insight into the top-performing hashtags.

c. Stories:

The difference for stories mostly lies in the metrics of the engagements, which are expressed in profile visits and interactions.

A new report is the Stories performance that shows the interactions from viewers:

  • Tap forward (to the next story)

  • Tap exit (out of stories)

  • Swip forward (to the next account)

  • Tab back (to the previous story)

Underneath, there also is a table with the 'Stories individual performance' and 'Hashtag performance' to show all the stories and hashtags in this timeframe.

d. Reels:

For Reels, the dashboard starts with the metrics overview.

The differentiator is the 'Top performers' report that shows the reel with:

  • The longest watch time

  • Longest total watch time

  • Most played

  • Most replayed

Underneath, there is also a table with the 'Reels individual performance' and 'Hashtag performance' to show all the Reels and hashtags in this timeframe.

4. Facebook Page

The Facebook Page dashboard starts with providing an overview of performance metrics on page level.

Below is a breakdown to deep-dive in the metrics for the chosen timeframe, with the option to also view the previous period for a visual comparison.

At the bottom is a list of posts published to Facebook in the chosen timeframe.

5. LinkedIn Page

The LinkedIn Page dashboard starts with providing an overview of performance metrics on page level.

Below is a breakdown to deep-dive in the metrics for the chosen timeframe, with the option to also view the previous period for a visual comparison.

At the bottom is a list of posts published to LinkedIn (through StoryChief) in the chosen timeframe.

⚠️ Limitation: We can't retrieve metrics from LinkedIn Profiles (personal accounts) through the LinkedIn API.

6. Pinterest

The Pinterest dashboard starts with providing an overview of performance metrics on page level.

Below is a breakdown to deep-dive in the metrics for the chosen timeframe, with the option to also view the previous period for a visual comparison.

At the bottom is a list of posts published to Pinterest (through StoryChief) in the chosen timeframe.

7. Google My Business

The Google My Business dashboard starts with providing an overview of performance metrics on page level.

At the bottom is a list of posts published to GMB (through StoryChief) in the chosen timeframe.
