Adding formatting to your articles is perfectly possible and already configured for you by default.

Start adding format to your text

Go to the article editor and by selecting a piece of text (a word, a sentence, a paragraph...) the formatting toolbar will appear. These are the options available:

  1. Bold

  2. Italics

  3. Underline

  4. Strikethrough

  5. Small text

  6. Code formatting

  7. Create links

  8. H2 heading

  9. H3 heading

  10. H4 heading

  11. Quote

  12. Bullet-point list (also indented)

13. Numbered list

  1. Codeblock

  2. Create a comment out of the selection (more info)

2. Links

For links, you have the option to open the link in a new window and/or set it as a nofollow hyperlink. There are four options to choose from:

  • External: links to a different website or page.

  • Section: links go to a heading (useful for creating a table of contents, more info).

  • Email: mailto links to allow visitors to create a new email with your chosen address.

  • Phone: a phone number that when clicked on will call using the visitor's default calling software.

3. Code blocks

If you need your code to be shown in a full block use the code block icon or press CTRL/CMD + SHIFT + J

Alternatively, you can start a new line and type ``` (3x backtick) to begin. You can now type your code. Press Enter when you are finished to have it formatted as a code block. Use Shift+Enter to add a new line of code and Enter again to finish.

Inline code

Select the text you want to highlight as inline code and press the inline code button or press CTRL/CMD + J.
