Below are the most common publishing errors for Instagram:

1. Unsupported post request

Error message:

Unsupported post request. Object with ID ‘[number]’ does not exist, cannot be loaded due to missing permissions, or does not support this operation. Please read the Graph API documentation at https:\\/\\/developers.facebook.com\\/docs\\/graph-api”

Explanation:

This means the connection between your Instagram business profile and your Facebook page has an issue.

Solution:

Go to the Facebook page that is connected to your IG business profile, click on settings, then Instagram and click on the connect button on the top right corner.

2. Complete page publishing authorization

Error message:

You cannot post to your connected Instagram account until you complete Page Publishing Authorization. Please visit https://www.facebook.com/business/m/one-sheeters/page-publishing-authorization for more information.

Explanation:

This means the connection between your Instagram business profile and your Facebook page has an issue.

Solution:

Go to the Facebook page that is connected to your IG business profile, click on settings, then Instagram and click on the connect button on the top right corner.

3. User access is restricted

Error message:

User access is restricted

Explanation:

This means that Instagram is blocking any kind of publishing until the Instagram user unrestricts himself. Instagram isn't providing any more details, but in the past, we have seen that it asks for the date of birth on login. Once provided publishing was reinstated.

Solution:
You should be able to solve it by logging in natively on the Instagram app (on your phone) and completing any kind of questions Instagram will ask you. After that, you should be able to publish again.

4. The video file you selected is in a format that we don't support.

The video file you selected is in a format that we don't support.

Explanation:

Some of your video specifications are not accepted by Instagram. This can be the video duration, size, codec dimensions or any other video specification.

Solution:

Please review your video and make sure it meets the Instagram requirements.

5. (#10) Application does not have permission for this action

This error is often related to the Instagram account being a Creator account. The Instagram API doesn't allow story publishing to creator accounts and thus throws this error. We advise switching to a Business account.
