How to set a custom cover image for your social media video.

StoryChief allows you to publish videos to multiple social media platforms, and some of these platforms allow you to select a cover image which will be visible before the video is played. The following article walks you through selecting a cover image for your video.


Start customizing your video

Step 1. Click the modify thumbnail button on the video:

Step 2. Select the image you want to use as a cover image, then click Select:

Twitter

Only Twitter embedded videos (Duration > 140 seconds and dimensions outside of 32x32 and 1280x1024; see help article))

Twitter native videos do not support custom cover images.

TikTok

Pinterest

Does not support videos

Google My business

Does not support videos

Slack

Limitation: You can only select an image from the video itself. You can not upload an external image.

🎉 Congratulations, your video will now show the selected image as a cover image on the supported social media platforms.
