media is a fantastic way to explain your products or services in more detail and share announcements. Let's take a look at how to do this inside the StoryChief social post editor.

In this article:

Creating, uploading, publishing

Step 1. Go to your Social posts page.

Step 2. Either click on Edit on an existing post or choose new social post. The social post editor will appear.

Step 3. Activate the channels you want to use and add a message. Click on the Media button to add images or videos.

πŸ”” Note: Videos must be smaller than 250 MB and use the MP4 format.

Step 4. Once inside the social post editor, you will see four options to add content to your post. Choose "Image" to be presented with the following options:

  • Upload from computer: add images or videos from your computer or device.

  • Media library: to add media previously uploaded to your workspace.

  • Upload from URL: to add an image from a public URL

  • Upload from ...: to add images from your connected DAM/Cloud storage provider

4.1 Upload images

Selecting this option will open the file browser on your computer so that you can pick the images you want to upload. You can upload multiple images at once. The images are then added automatically to your post. Learn more about optimising image sizes.

4.2 Media library

A new window will appear for you to choose images. Click on the images or videos to add or remove them from your selection. A total of 10 images can be added to a post. Click the Upload link to import more images or the green Insert button to confirm your selection.

Step 5. After uploading/selecting your images, you will see them appear inside your social post. In the master post, you can quickly remove or rearrange media by dragging them. Via the Smart crop function, your images will be resized to conform to the social channel limitations.

Step 6. When clicking the 'Edit' button, more options are available such as editing individual images and adding captions to media. When selecting 'Edit' for an image, the editor opens and provides lots of options. Resize the image, and add filters or text. Often, the images are automatically resized to fit within a certain size limit.

Once ready, click on 'Save' to finish.

❌ Limitation: Unfortunately, some social channels don't fully support a mix of images and videos in posts. So warnings will pop up if changes are needed.

Step 7. Tailoring your posts and channel limits

πŸ”” Note: Social platforms have different image limits, which you can see displayed at the bottom right of the channel. If you are at the limit, you won't be able to select other images until you first remove some others. You can do that by clicking on the βœ… icon.

Step 8. The media is now added to your social post. You can choose a schedule date or publish now and click 'Publish' or 'Schedule' once ready to send it out. As uploading a video can take some time, it may be a few minutes until the post is published to your channels.
