New and improved features overview:
StoryChief Connect: William gets superpowers π
This is the biggest StoryChief release to date. William, your AI Marketing Manager, can now connect to the tools your team already uses and learn the way your team likes to work.
MCP (Model Context Protocol): William AI can now reach beyond StoryChief: pulling in data, triggering actions and working alongside your existing stack. Think of it as plugging William AI into your wider workflow, so research, planning and execution happen in one connected flow.
Custom Skills: Not every team works the same way, and now William AI doesn't have to either. Once you set up a Skill, William AI follows it every single time. Define it once, and your whole team benefits from it consistently.
π‘ The result: a William AI Manager that knows your tools, your data and your way of working so that your strategies and campaigns are based off real data, and not gut feeling.
A brand new navigation experience
We've rebuilt the entire app navigation from scratch. Search, notifications, account switching and all your key areas now live in one consistent, fast and intuitive place.
Your Planning & Content pages are fully integrated into the new navigation too, so moving between planning, content and strategy feels seamless. No more bouncing between disconnected views.
Less clicking around, more getting things done.
Let external AI tools edit your articles for you β‘
AI tools connected via MCP can now read, understand and update your published StoryChief articles directly; comments included. Just give an article (a StoryChief URL or even one word from the title is enough) and AI tools, such as ChatGPT or Claude will find and edit it.
Ask to auto-apply comments from your team or clients; like "find a better SEO title", "remove this section" or "shorten the intro". You can also attach images to insert too.
Worried about stepping on toes? The MCP connection respects article locks: if a teammate already has the editor open, the article won't be auto-edited. Every change made through the MCP connection is also fully tracked in your version history and activity log, so nothing happens silently.
Less context-switching, more shipping. π
New asset libraries: MediaValet & Shutterstock π§©
Two new ways to bring visuals into your content without leaving StoryChief.
MediaValet DAM integration: if your organisation uses MediaValet, you can now browse and insert assets from your media library directly inside StoryChief. No more switching tools to find that one approved image.
Shutterstock integration: search the full Shutterstock catalog and purchase a license in-app. Already licensed something? Grab it instantly via the dedicated Licensed images button.
Editor & article lifecycle upgrades
A few quality-of-life updates that take the friction out of everyday editing.
Scheduled unpublish: set a date and time for an article to be automatically unpublished. Perfect for time-sensitive content like campaigns, promotions or seasonal pieces. Full control over the full lifecycle, set-and-forget.
View linked social posts from articles: when editing an article, head to the Audience page to see any connected social posts at the bottom. No more bouncing back to the overview to find them.
Indent & unindent buttons in the editor: visible indent and unindent buttons for list items, just like Google Docs. No more keyboard-shortcut gymnastics to manage nested lists.
Smoother workspace & approval workflows
Two small but mighty improvements for admins and content owners.
Resend workspace invitations: admins can now resend pending invites to users who haven't accepted yet; so no need to revoke and re-invite from scratch.
Approval auto-reminders: content waiting for approval will now automatically nudge reviewers: a first reminder after one week, a final one after two. Nothing slips through the cracks.
That's a wrap for May. Go check it out. π
