Release Notes July 2026

Custom content type labels and icons, plus AI assistants that can now update your social posts via MCP.

Written by Victor

New and improved features overview:

Custom names and icons for your content types

Content types no longer have to stick to StoryChief's default labels. Rename any content type (turn "Newsletters" into "Press Releases," "Magazines," or whatever fits your team's workflow) and give it its own icon.

This is especially useful if you share a calendar with colleagues or clients who use their own terms for content categories, so everyone recognizes what's what at a glance.

Update this from your content type settings. Learn more: Choose your content types

Update social posts straight from your AI assistant

Any AI assistant connected to StoryChief through MCP (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) can now fetch, search and update an existing social post, not just create a new one.

Ask your assistant to tweak a post's copy or update a scheduled post directly, without opening StoryChief. Every change lands in StoryChief exactly as instructed, and stays fully editable there afterward.
