Step-by-step guide for linking your Intercom account to bring customer conversation data into StoryChief.
Connecting Intercom gives you access to customer conversation insights directly inside StoryChief, without switching tools. Once linked, StoryChief can use your Intercom data to support smarter, customer-informed content decisions at the planning and creation stage.
🔔 Note: You'll need to have completed the following before starting:
An active Intercom account with admin access
Admin access to your StoryChief workspace

1. Connect Intercom in StoryChief
Step 1. In StoryChief, navigate to Strategy and open the Plugins & Skills section in the left sidebar.
Step 2. Search for Intercom in the list and select it to open the connection panel.
Step 3. Click Install to reveal the Access token field.
Step 4. Paste your Intercom bearer token into the field and click Connect to confirm the integration.
🔔 Note: If the connection fails, verify that the token belongs to an account with sufficient permissions. Access tokens tied to restricted teammates may not return all data.
2. Find your Intercom bearer token
Step 1. In a new tab, log in to your Intercom account and click your profile icon in the bottom-left corner. Select Settings. Go to Integrations > Developer Hub.
Step 2. Click on your app (or create a new internal app if you don't have one).
Step 3. Open the Authentication tab and copy the Access Token shown there.
💡 Tip: The access token is partially masked for security. Use the copy icon to grab the full value.
Step 4. Go back to StoryChief, paste the token into the connector panel, and click Connect.
